Bought new from Fred™™s Appliance with Fred™™s Appliance extended warranty. Washer constantly went unbalanced regardless of the size of the load, cycle, etc. had 1st service call 3 months after purchase, they replaced the basket, then the washer started filling up too much, would go out of balance, stop mid cycle and turn off, fail to drain, etc. finally got a second service where he simply tightened down the basket, said it was fixed, 3rd service call, decided to change the motherboard, meanwhile it™™s been 4 weeks without a washer. All that said, it™™s doing the same thing even with a new motherboard! Hopefully Fred™™s Appliance and GE do the right thing and replace our washer. OBTW this model was discontinued and most likely because it has so many complaints. Don™™t waste your money on a GE.

Unhappy with glass lid - defective hinge

Purchased the glass top washer for my Florida home. Have only used the washer about 10 times as it is a second home. It is just past warranty. I have owned several other GE Profile washers in the past and have been happy but very unhappy with the glass top model as the weight of the glass lid has caused cheap plastic hinge to crack and fall apart which also prevents the lid locking to be able to wash clothes. AI shows this is a noted problem. Unhappy with customer service options which will cost me $$$$ on a defective part

This washer is probably the worst in filling up your load with water. It pretty much just splashes your clothes with water. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because I figured out that if you use the ™bulky™ setting on all your loads as well as the deep fill™¦ it will fill it up to as high as your load is. Which ends up being more than most washers now a days. So if you™™re like me and water is important in getting your laundry done then bulky setting is the way to go.

Profile washer

I am very disappointed in how this machine selects the water level. On normal wash the level is no more than 2inches. Clothes seem to grind. Some are not even wet. I do not load a lot of items even, knowing that the water will be a problem. Don™™t like the machine at all. Called customer help was told to use bulky. Seems a water waste which I try to avoid. Is there some way to get the water level right instead of choosing bulky?

Horrible Washer Experience

We purchased this washer 3 years ago. In the 3 years we have owned it, the lid has broke 3 times. Each time the lid lasts around 11 months, then the hinges break and the back of the lid cracks. This makes the washer unusable because the lid won't close completely to allow the locking mechanical to engage. The cost of the lid is $250+ each time, not counting labor. We are very disappointed in this washer and would recommend you to NOT consider purchasing it. Being frustrated with this washer and GE would be an understatement. We wish we never purchased this washer.

Not happy at all. Our dark clothes end up with a whitish residue, even when using only a stable spoon of detergent and separating out any items with higher lint content. Then it seems like we always need to rebalance loads during the spin cycle regardless of how balanced the load is initially.

A couple things I liked to share about wifi operating to the appliances was not there yet ( meant to technologies ) 2nd the appliances spinning so loud / noisey unable to setup a quitely . But we still love to heard back the branch : Kenmore and GE.

For GE to state it is the top of the line washing machine, I have to disagree. The signal that indicates the wash has ended is in the lower end and smaller machine. This machine has none. Also no pause button if something has to be corrected or added to the wash . Very surprised and disappointed by the lack of ease in running the machine.

I™™ve had this washer for a couple years now. Every time I wash towels or sheets it gets off balance. It doesn™™t matter if you load the washer evenly, the agitator disrupts the weight. I have to manually rebalance constantly. Also, the agitator is not like those of old school. No, this one jut seems to twist everything up. And, if you wash in Deep Water mode, the clothes don™™t move despite the agitator working. I usually love GE products but this one is a junker.

Omg! This washer is the best washing machine I have had in 10 yrs. It has an agitator which you can order without, but I absolutely love having an agitator again. The water level can be adjusted so you can add extra 3 gallons, or you can have it filled to the top. I connected it to my cell phone so I can now check my phone to see if its done without going up and down the stairs. There are also different modes for the different types of items you want washed. I love it and am so happy with it. Their dryer is great too!

I love that the app tells me when the cycle is over. My only complain is washing heavy blankets, it won't spin it. I us it's too heavy. I had to et the blanket out when it was so heavy still with water and hang it to dry. Other than that it works great!

I wish I knew how to measure the Cu. In this machine to verify that indeed it's 5.3 cu. It's very small for being a 5.3 cu. I put 1 comforter in to wash and the machine started to rattle!!!! Sounds like there's something wrong with the belt... My old machine was a 4.5 cu and it did not rattle this much. The lid is very cheap! Made of plastic and it doesn't look durable. The machine does not fill up all the way. For The second load, I pressed top fill. For my third load, I put 2 blankets in to wash. When the cycle was done, the blankets were very wet. I had to take 1 one and use the "dry and spin" cycle one at a time . Since the manufacturer only gives 48 hours to return, I will be returning this washer as I don't think it will last very long. Paying almost $1k for something that does not perform well is not fair to consumers!!

Worst purchase of a life time -- I usually don't mind doing laundry but now I Loath it -- you can not see the water when it is washing -- even on a 'deep fill' there is no water, just enough to get everything wet. Even with little people's clothes the same shirt which just got wet bc of the water coming down never moves it stays in the same spot just loves left and right never goes down. Washing my sons coveralls with a deep fill and little care they don't get clean and thats with 2 child's coveralls. Would not ever recommend to anyone unless their clothes are clean going in. Worthless machine -- idk if we bought a lemon or if all the machines are like this. I am extremely disappointed and probably will never purchase a ge again bc of this machine.

Capacity is good, the technology ie light touch control pad is a bit awkward and I'm sure will not last long. The overall performance of the washer is very loud. The locking mechanism latches randomly throughout the cycle and is very loud. Pretty much everything about the wash cycles are loud. This was an insurance credit purchase with only three units to choose from.

I like the large capacity. The dispenser stays wet long after the wash is complete and feels a little flimsy. Clothes are clean and spun extremely well, allowing the drying time to be drastically reduced. It™™s taken some time to adjust to digital, but I love it.

Worst washing machine I have ever bought in my life! The agitator doesn™™t go in one motion it goes back-and-forth and doesn™™t move the clothes around. My clothes were not coming clean. You cannot regulate how much water goes into the machine and it never got enough water to cover the clothes just awful. Giving this washer a 1 star due to the quality and longevity of the product. We purchased the washing machine March of 2024 and the agitating shaft bolt sheared in October of 2025. This bolt shearing resulted in needing to fully replace the transmission of the washing machine. GE provided us with the option of buying a discounted part and we'd install ourselves or pay full service charge for a GE service technician to install ($360) or a new discounted washing machine (roughly 10% discount for the new washer). Before this quality issue, the washer did it's job fine, but after running it for ~18 months, I was surprised that the fix was to buy a new replacement washer or slightly less for the part + service. We have had multiple other brands/washers and never had this type of issue, and they regularly would last 10+ years.

We've only had the washer for a week now and so far, it's been great. It's quiet and seems to clean our cloths very well. The large capacity drum makes doing larger loads like blankets easier to do. The touch screen controls are very nice, and the digital display tells you when the washer is out of balance and need an adjustment. Overall, the washer performs very well. Should something come up I'll be sure to update my review.

I've only had the new Profile washer for a little over a week, but already like it better than the two I had before this on. The two before did not have an agitator and went out of balance all the time and my clothes were always tangled up. My new does have the agitator back and has not gone out of balance at all and my clothes are not tangled and are a lot less wrinkled coming out of the washer.
