Purchased brand new in 2022. Ice maker stopped working after 1 year. Repairman who serviced the unit told me this refrigerator has a poor design that causes the water to freeze before dripping into the ice maker. He showed me what he was talking about and warned me it will happen again. Sure enough it froze in the exact place he said it would two days after the service. Just around the two-year mark, ice started forming on the rear wall of the refrigerator. The compressor is now very loud. I am replacing this three-year-old unit with another brand on Thursday.

Terrible refrigerator

I™€™ve had service people out probably 6-8 times since the warranty ran out and the refrigerator was only 13 months old when the ice maker froze up, the refrigerator is at 65 degrees and the freezer has frost in it. These issues have happened at least twice each from 12-14 months old and it still doesn™€™t work. I™€™ve lost 2 sets of food and condiments because of this.

Bought this fridge/icemaker in Jan 2023 and the ice maker has been an issue for last 18 months. had the icemaker replaced and still does not work. Since I'm a few months out of warranty as I'm not at this residence all the time, I got no where with GE.

Fridge freezes

We bought this fridge as it's the only one with French doors and 30" wide. Other reviewers were correct about freezer door clumsily closing and frail. Our biggest complaint is that it freezes all items on the top shelf and bottom crisper items at 37 deg. Bumped it to 40 and still frozen items. GE phoneline encourages online appt setup, but charged $89 for service on brand new appliance.

We bought our GE refrigerator because our last fridge lasted over 32 years. It was great!! Now this new one has design flaws inside with shelf placement. So we have ordered the adjustable/folding shelf to help with the food placement. Hopefully , that will solve the issue and it will be as great as the old one was.

The model was one of the few in its price range which fit in our spot. It's sleek and modern on the outside. Overall good storage space. I wish the 2 main shelves in the fridge were more flexible. They are straight across the fridge and can only be moved up or down. I would have preferred, if the middle shelf was split so that half could be adjusted.

It started frosting and freezing in the fridge, then warms up to 70 to thaw. I have tried to get this fixed-still under manufacturer warranty, for 1.5 months. 2 repair companies and countless service calls and replaced parts and it still broken. GE has posted a bulletin for this product but they will not replace it. I can't use it! The repairman called GE and they recommended replacing 2 more parts-WHAT!. I like GE products and have a washer, dryer, range and dishwasher-but this is a terrible product. GE has reimbursed some money for my inconvenience. Not having a working fridge is more than inconvenient

First new fridge in over 20 years so a big improvement for us. I worry a bit about the lifespan of the double freezer drawer (versus the simple door on an overhead freezer) but time will tell on that I guess. No issues so far (only had it a month at this point) but it just kind of clunks every time you open/close the drawer so I imagine that takes a toll after many years of use. Overall very pleased we could find something that fit the narrow opening of our older home yet still has the looks and functionality of a fancy modern Dutch door refrigerator.

Not my favorite fridge I work in a luxury town home community that is used this model for their fridges across most of our properties the problem that I deal with the most with these fridges are frozen water components for some reason they felt the engineering of these fridges was okay to allow for the evaporator fan to blow chilled air directly on the water supply line for the ice maker... I get constant calls for frozen ice makers The other number one failure or the door hinges these units do not handle door swing well they break quickly and you need to replace the bushings often. The last thing is this is not a maintenance friendly fridge any work that needs to be done usually has to be done in the freezer... Even the smallest technicians have trouble fitting into these things resulting in required removal of doors and major components just to gain access to minor issues... And my biggest complaint the worst complaint is the cost of parts why on Earth do minor pieces cost major percentage of the value of this fridge not okay the concept of buying things built in other countries was supposed to be cheaper not more cost inefficient At least it'll work for a while... Not my professional choice for a decent dependable model in the fridge market!

I like the fridge very much, like the space on the doors for tall bottles. Desperately miss a butter keeper. Butter absorbs odors and a keeper keeps it fresher even in a closed butter dish. The inside seems smaller than my previous fridge. Freezer draw doesn™€™t glide easily - you have to push it closed.

Ice Maker Button broken and condensation issues.

Purchased this side by side refrigerator in August 2023. It has a fair amount of condensation no matter what temperature I set the refrigerator to. Default is 36 to 37 degrees and still it makes too much condensation in the top back inside portion of the refrigerator. The on/off button on the bottom freezer just broke. I noticed 2 plastic pieces in the ice tray and found out this was the on/off switch for the ice maker. The ice maker makes too much ice even when it hits the full lever in the freezer causing ice to run off in the back of the bottom freezer. Wow not impressed with this expensive GE refrigerator with bottom freezer.
